As summer approaches, Chicago Fashion Foundation is not resting on our laurels. We are fortunate to be working with the city of Chicago for this years Fashion Focus week in September. Watch for more information to come.

Committees are diligently working on planning this and other events, which will provide members opportunities to expand their business knowledge while networking with new and seasoned CFF members. Each board member oversees a committee, which embraces their commitment to establishing accountability for the success of the Chicago Fashion Foundation.

Editor-In-Chief Second City Style

It’s a little soon to say Second City Style is a success story, but I sure like the sound of it and we have come a long way in less than a year since our launch. Second City Style is an online fashion magazine for Chicago women. The magazine content and design were originally created out of hundreds of surveys from Chicago-area women. We now have 5 contributing writers, an advice column and our ‘Daily Dish.’

Since September 2005, my business partner, Carol Calacci and I have been begging the women of Chicago to retire the scrunchies, never wear sneakers with a suit to the office and stop showing us their muffin tops. That’s what we mean by “Retail Therapy for Chicago .”

One of the main reasons we started Second City Style was that we wanted to project to the world that there are some fashion forward people in the City of Big Shoulders . Our goal is to raise the bar of fashion in Chicago . We also support Chicago designers and any designer that creates great fashion.

Lastmonth we had 750,000 impressions and the average length of stay is almost 6 minutes. Readers come from not only Chicago , but NYC, LA, Michigan and even Europe . We now have companies from Chicago and nationally looking to advertise on our site… so we have been here trying to change the perception of our city.
