Katie Hanson

Katie Hanson is a freelance photographer based out of Chicago. She specializes in fashion, portrait, editorial, and event photography. Through collaboration with designers, stylists, make-up artists, models, and others, Katie has gained a deep appreciation for the well of talent available in Chicago's fashion industry.

She has worked with a variety of Condé Naste publications, including Gourmet and Domino , and is the resident fashion photographer for Today's Chicago Woman Magazine. She also co-owned Three445 Gallery—a Chicago art gallery specializing in fashion, photography, film, painting, and music—where she coordinated events and worked to develop and implement gallery initiatives.

After graduating from Northwestern University with a B.A. in pre-med, psychology and Spanish, Katie ignored her degrees and pursued her calling, working as a studio photographer and photography teacher in various locations throughout the city.

She currently works at The August Jackson Company, a boutique creative communications agency. Most recently, Katie has had the honor of joining the Chicago Fashion Foundation, where she contributes her ideas and experience in an effort to bring wider exposure to the city's burgeoning fashion industry.
